Agent Memory
ELI5 - The Vibe Check
Agent memory is the notebook that survives after the conversation ends. Without it, an agent forgets everything the moment the chat closes and relearns your entire codebase from scratch tomorrow. With it, the agent writes down what matters, like your deploy process or a decision you made last week, and reads that note back before it starts working again.
Real Talk
Agent memory refers to persistent storage, such as files, key-value stores, or vector databases, that an agent writes to and reads from across sessions or context resets, distinct from the transient working memory of the context window. Implementations range from simple markdown files like CLAUDE.md to vector-indexed long-term memory stores that support semantic recall over past sessions.

- User prefers TypeScript strict mode, no `any`.
- Deploy target is Vercel, push to main means production.
- Last session: finished the auth flow, next up is the billing page.
When You'll Hear This
"The agent's memory file remembers our deploy process so I don't have to re-explain it every session." / "Without persistent memory, the agent relearns the codebase from scratch every morning."
